Artist's Description
I shot this the morning after an earthquake in Nosara, the horses came out of nowhere and disappeared down the beach. People that have seen it refered to the post-apocalyptic feeling it gave them. Photograph Tracey Levine.
About Tracey Levine
Things I Believe; Being an artist is a Blessing and a Curse. I feel an obligation to humanity to bring light to injustice. To over emphasize the small and ignored details of nature. And to comically characterize the defects of others and myself. To bring some humor, illumination and a different perspective. To be a true artist requires skill, hard work and at times bravery. It is a part of my soul and still cheaper than a psychiatrist. I am grateful to the people whom look beyond the the obvious to absorb the true meaning of my work. My work has been shown at the; Westcott Bay Museum Orcas Center Altered Esthetics’ Enzo’s Art Cafe’ Wa. Federal Bank Islander’s Bank ...

Indeed this great. evocative photo has a stark apocalyptic feeling about it. Except for the surfer, it could be a document of ages long gone in the mist of time - or of an apocalyptic age yet to come.
Tracey Levine replied:
Thanks Hartmut! I cropped out the surfer, then I thought, end-o-the- world or not, if there is 1 surfer left you know they'll be out there* lol
